On April 14, 1930, the Bemis Book Club

was organized in the Bemis home of Neva S. Woodson.
The idea of a book club originated with Edith Brock. Ms. Brock had recently moved from
LaGrange, Georgia where she had enjoyed membership in a similar club.
The love of good books and the fellowship of old friend, as well
as with new ones we have been privileged to make during the years, distinguished
this club from all others.
As time swiftly passes, and as we continue to enjoy this fellowship may we always remember that the Bible is the
book of all books, to be read by all ages and in all conditions of life.
